Spatial distribution and mapping of risk elements pollution in agricultural soils of southern Tehran, Iran

چکیده
In order to evaluate risk elements and their spatial distribution in agricultural fields south of Tehran, statistics, geostatistics and geographic information system (GIS) were used. The content of Hg, As, Pb, Mo, and Be were determined in 106 samples. The results showed that primary inputs of As and Hg were due to anthropogenic sources, while Pb, Mo and Be were associated with pedogenic and anthropogenic factors. Ordinary kriging was carried out to map the spatial patterns of risk elements and disjunctive kriging was used to quantify the probability of risk elements concentrations higher than their guide value. The results show that As, Hg, Mo and Be exhibit pollution risk in the study area. The high pollution sources evaluated were related with usage of urban and industrial wastewater for agricultural practice. The results of this study are helpful for risk assessment of environmental pollution for decision making for vegetable production and ecosystem improving.

Origin and spatial distribution of metals in agricultural soils
Presence of toxic metals in agricultural soils can impose adverse health impact on consumers. The main purpose of this study was to determine spatial distribution of elements Fe, Sb, Mn in agriculture soils and crops of Hamedan Province in Iran. Soil samples (0-20 cm depth) were collected from an area of 2831 km2. Iron, Antimony and Manganese in samples of soil and agricultural crop...
متن کاملMapping and risk assessment of heavy metals in agricultural soils of the Siakh Darengoun Region, Shiraz, Iran
Four heavy metals were measured in forty-nine topsoil samples collected fromagricultural areas in Siakh-Darengoun, Iran. The goals were to investigate soil spatialdistribution patterns of metals; their potential ecological risk; and sources. The Hakansonpotential ecological risk index and index of geo-accumulation (Igeo) were used forevaluating t...
متن کاملSpectroscopic Based Quantitative Mapping of Contaminant Elements in Dumped Soils of a Copper Mine
Possibility of mapping the distribution of Arsenic and Chromium in a mining area was investigated using combination of (VNIR) reflectance spectroscopy and geostatistical analysis. Fifty five soil samples were gathered from a waste dump at Sarcheshmeh copper mine and VNIR reflectance spectra were measured in a laboratory. Savitzky- Golay first derivative was used as the main pre-processing metho...
متن کاملEvaluation and Mapping Spatial Distribution of Copper Pollution in Soil and Water of Vineyard Garden
Background and objectives: The use of copper based fungicides is a crucial part of agricultural operations in vineyards, increasing productivity and crops. However, the long term application of fungicide could increase the copper concentration in the vineyard soils. Methods: In this study, soil and water chemical parameters including copper contamination, pH and EC as well as soil organic ...
متن کاملEvaluation of Potentially Toxic Elements Pollution Indices in Rangeland Northwest of Chadegan city (Isfahan Province)
Abstract Today, the pollution of Rangeland soils by various destructive pollutants has become one of the human-environmental problems. Lacking proper management of organic matter discharge can also increase the concentration of salts, heavy metals, and pathogenic microorganisms. In this study, to investigate and measure the concentration of toxic elements, 128 soil samples of Chadegan region w...
